Spiders Web 2-7 Caistor Rovers

Rovers travelled to Grimsby to meet a very experienced Spiders Web team at the weekend.

The game was played on a very wet and water logged surface, which Rovers adapted to better taking an early lead through a very composed finish from Nathan Smith quickly followed by a powerful effort from the excellent Aaron Ford to double the score.

Web started to establish themselves and converted through a rare set piece. This spurred Rovers into action and Andy Belt chipped the ‘keeper from 18-yards to make it 3-1 before Nathan Smith made the score 4-1 with a well placed free kick.

After half time Rovers increased the tempo and Aaron Ford scored his second with the goal of the game, an 18-yard chip, to make it 5-1.

Rovers switched off and Web scored their second. Rovers manager Ryan Farrow showed the depth of his squad bringing the dangerous duo of Kieran Togher and Jack Marriott off the bench.

The lively Kieran Togher put away two excellent finishes to make the final score 7-2 to Rovers.

Man of match, sponsored by Savages Fish and Chip Shop, was Aaron Ford. Match ball sponsor was David Starling from Rase Steel.
