Caistor Tennyson maintained their promotion push in the East Lincolnshire Combination League Division 3 with a 5-3 home win over Stalingborogh based ARG Plumbing. As a result they remain top of the league.

With matches called off all over the area and nationwide, the Caistor Sports Ground pitch looked in excellent condition when the teams took the field.

Exchanges were fairly even throughout the opening half, but after the visitors took the lead Caistor got back on terms when Luke Clifford headed home following a set piece.

Caistor hit the post just before the break. Nathan Smith had broken through and his shot left the visiting keeper stranded, but frustratingly for the home side the shot struck the woodwork.

Sloppy defending allowed the visitors to get back in front and from midway through the second half the goals came thick and fast at both ends.

Tennyson were much more creative in their build up after the interval and it was Clifford who was the star man with four out of the five goals, Luke Williams getting the other.
