Ryan Thompson grabbed a brace of goals as Brigg Town’s second string secured their place in the quarter-finals of the Supplementary Cup on Saturday.

The 5-2 defeat added to the woes of Market Rasen Town who became the first team to be knocked out of the competition, having picked up just one point from their opening four games in Group C.

Also on target for the home side were Ryan King, Scott Neary and David Deane, while Aaron Greenbeck (pictured) and Ian Smith replied for the visitors.

Elsewhere Lincoln Railway AFC kept their qualification hopes alive with victory by the odd goal-in-11 over Sleaford Town Reserves.
