Middle Rasen Demolish Waddington in just two Hours

Top of the league Middle Rasen went into the game against second placed Waddington hoping to continue the clubs fantastic start to the season.

With captain Richard Boryszczuk away, Ivan Nash took charge of the side which produced one of the most lethal displays of bowling you will see for a long time.

With Waddington winning the toss and batting first Middle Rasen’s opening attack of Dan Norburn and Darren Salmon, which surely is the best opening bowling partnership in the league, simply annihilated Waddington’s batting line up

In just the third over Dan Norburn cleaned up Gibson for 0, then in his next over the same thing happened again, this time Over was the man clean bowled by Norburn.

Not to be out done Darren Salmon got in the wickets, first bowling Billy Evans and then next over bowling his brother Gary Evans.

Dan Norburn then turned it up another gear and added three more wickets to his tally, bowling both Horton and King and then Wells catching Gibson off his bowling, leaving Norburn figures of 5-33 off seven overs and Salmon 2-16 off his seven overs,

Stand in Captain Nash introduced himself and Carl Robinson into the attack and after eight consecutive maiden overs between the pair, Robinson added a wicket to his impressive bowling display, with Norburn catching well.

Nash finished things off, bowling Ken Griffin for 0, Nash finishing with figures of 1-4 and Carl Robinson amazingly four overs four maidens for the one wicket. Waddington 56 all out.

So with not a big total to chase Middle got to work and they didn’t waste any time.

In fact it took just eight overs, Nash and the big hitting Aaron Wells quickly adding runs with Wells smashing 21 before he was dismissed. He was shortly joined in the pavilion by Nash who made 18.

With the score on 53, father and son Kevin and Darren Salmon saw Middle Rasen home when Darren hit a six.

Middle continue to impress at the top of the league and when a game starts at 2pm and your going home at 4pm you know you have had a good thrashing.

So Middle sit top of the league and are in excellent form at the minute. They will look to continue this next week when they visit Cherry Willingham.
