CRICKETERS in the West Wold Evening Cricket League are celebrating another successful summer of sport.

This season saw the introduction of the Market Rasen Ladies to the league, who competed well against all of the men’s teams, and were represented in the President’s XI on the Presentation Evening.

Middle Rasen were triumphant on two fronts, winning both the league and the cup this season.

The cup match was won in a game against Caistor Hurdiss at Caistor Cricket Club. The game went down to the last ball, with Caistor Hurdiss needing two runs to win.

With a direct hit Caistor Hurdiss were run out, giving Middle Rasen won by a single run.

The Presentation Match was held at Caistor Cricket Club with the league winners, Middle Rasen, playing a President’s Select XI, selected from all of the teams in the league.

The President’s XI successfully chased down the 110 runs set by Middle Rasen, resulting in the President (Kathleen Smith) being triumphant again.
