CRICKET: Keelby lead East Lindsey League at half way point

Three local cricket clubs take part in the East Lindsey League Division 2 and Keelby lead the way as the season comes to its half-way point.

Keelby have enjoyed wins over Holton le Clay by seven wickets, Cleethorpes Academy by one wicket, Southbank by six wickets and Friskney by 83 runs. Their only defeat came in a local derby with Brocklesby Park which Brocklesby won by 39 runs.

That was Brocklesby’s only win so far which leaves them in sixth position. Their game with Southbank had to be abandoned when rain closed in and they lost to Friskney by 108 runs. Graves Park also beat Brocklesby by a wide margin, this time by 117 runs while in another local derby they went down to Hainton by seven wickets. Brocklesby also went down to Holton le Clay by 161 runs.

Hainton’s fortunes have been slightly better and they sit in mid-table fourth. Their game with Holton le Clay was abandoned due to bad weather. They then lost to Southbank by 10 wickets but beat Friskney by the same margin. Hainton also won in a one-sided game with Cleethorpes Academy by 10 wickets.
