Caistor Cricket Club 1st team had a smooth passage through to Round 2 of the George Marshall Trophy when they entertained Holton le Clay from Division 1.
The visitors opted to bowl after winning the toss, but the Caistor opening pair of Harry Boulton and Ryan McKitton were soon putting together a purposeful opening partnership. By the time Boulton was stumped off Danny Portess the duo had 81 on the board.
Caistor skipper Liam Wood hit his best score of the season with 31 and then Paul Dimbleby with 22 and his fellow all rounder Tom Boryszczuk with 28 scored freely. When the 45 overs were up Caistor had 201 for 5.
The visitors always had a chance with that kind of total and only fell 18 runs short on 183 for 8. Kieron Brooker,Dimbleby and Boryszczuk each took a couple of wickets.
Caistor 2nd team were at Holton le Clay in the Bob Marshall Cup and made it a double over their rivals with a win by seven wickets.
Caistor put their hosts in to bat and they were soon struggling. Ryan Farrow with 3 for 16 off 8 miserly overs was the pick of the Caistor attack, but Paul Rendall and Harry Capstick each had two wickets and Chris Laister and Alex McKitton each had one, as Holton le Clay were dismissed in 43 overs for 134.
