Caistor 1st team were without a game in the Lincolnshire Premier League last Saturday.
The 2nd team stole the headlines in a Sunday game with an impressive 51 run win at struggling Cleethorpes 3rd Xl in Division 2.
Caistor skipper Kev Parker won the toss and wisely chose to bat on the normally run friendly Cleethorpes track.
Nathan Davis (38) and Parker (26) put on 69 in an impressive opening partnership before Deean Cressey had them both caught.
Caistor then fell apart mid innings before Henry Gillett scored 28 runs batting at number 9, ably assisted by fellow tail ender Chris Laister, who hit a useful 18. Caistor were all out for 144 in the 43rd over with Cressey taking 6 for 50 for Cleethorpes.
When the home side batted after tea Ben Marris gave them a good start with 34 before Tim Brown clean bowled him.
Things then fell apart for the home side who were skittled for 93, both medium pacer Brown and spinner James France taking four wickets each and Gillett taking two.
Caistor 2nds though could not find the same success against Hartsholme. Dan Healey’s 25 was the top score in Caistor’s 104 all out. Hartsholme had no trouble getting past that score making 105 for the loss of 2 wickets for their 8 wicket win.
