A five-wicket haul from Kieran Brooker guided Caistor to a terrific 19-run win over Lincolnshire County League Premier challengers Alford on Saturday.
Caistor won the toss and elected to bat first at Brigg Road, but they made an uncertain start as openers Harry Boulton and Stuart Costello were out with only 19 on the board.
Middle order contributions from Liam Wood (22), Rory Ronaldson (30), and Jim Parker (38), along with late order runs from Gareth Johnson (16 not out), helped the hosts to 152-8 from their 50 overs.
With a low total to defend, Caistor bowlers struggled to make early in-roads as Alford reached 71-2 thanks to skipper Andrew White (36) and Michael Fitzsimmons (27).
But once Brooker (5 for 35) and Sean Woolley (3 for 55) had dismantled the top six, Ronaldson weighed in with 2 for 13 to skittle the visitors for just 133,
The 20-point haul moved Caistor up to sixth, while Alford dropped to fourth.
