Caistor’s final game offers a little consolation

BOTTOM of division 4 and already condemned to applying for re-election, Caistor Cricket Club 3rds won their final game of the season in Division 4 away to Alford 2nds.

However, the margin between the teams was only one wicket and Alford gained sufficient bonus points to climb above Rasen 2nds by two points and pip Andy Richley’s men for promotion.

Alford 2nds hit 177 for six, Caistor 3rds replying with 178 for nine (Peter Jacob 65).

In Division 2, Owmby, already safe from relegation, had a disappointing end to the season as they were well beaten on their visit to bottom team Haxey 2nds.
