Brocklesby Park Cricket
Club won the West Wold League Cup final, defeating league champions Middle Rasen by 26 runs.

Both teams have had successful seasons in the league.

With Brocklesby finishing second, the final was always going to be a competitive affair.

Brocklesby took first knock and captain Matthew Bell set the standard with some positive batting.

Will Bradford and Darren Salmon were the pick of the Middle Rasen attack and each claimed a wicket.

The crucial stand in the Brocklesby innings was between Bell and Liam Redmond, Bell finishing unbeaten after the 16 overs on 41, but Redmond top scoring with an impressive 51.

It all meant that Brocklesby had posted an impressive 141 for 4.

When Middle Rasen came to bat, Bradford and Salmon showed good form with the bat as well. Bradford hitting 32 and Salmon 50.

But the Middle Rasen
total after the 16 overs was
well short, ending on 111 for
7.

Brocklesby took the cup and Middle Rasen can
reflect on the fact that the league title was more than just a little compensation for the team.
