Four-ward with quadrathlon plans

A major competitive quadrathlon is to take place in Brigg this summer.

Brigg Bomber Quadrathlon will be moved from its July date of recent years after it was upgraded to a Eurochampionship Quadrathlon European event.

The event will now take place on Sunday May 26, the traditional date of the North Lincs Triathlon.

Both events are run by Lincs Squad the local adventure group.

The quadrathlon involves a swim in the Broughton Bridge area, followed by a cycle ride to Snitterby, canoe challenge and ending with a run on Cadney Road and the Ancholme riverbank. The triathlon will not take place in 2013.

The new event, with its higher status, is expected to attract hundreds of tourists to the town from all over the UK and participating nations in Europe.
