Pete reels in Feast cup

Market Rasen Angling Club

SUNDAY saw 11 members make the draw at 12.30pm for the Feast Cup, which used to be a traditional part of the Market Rasen Feast Week.

The match was fished over a five hour period at the club’s Willingham Road Lake. The weather for the match was warm, overcast and the odd shower in the latter part of the match.

Fishing on peg 2, using both the feeder and pole saw Pete Skayman catch 5lb 15oz to win the match from Barry Dea’th fishing Peg 24, feeder fishing with 4lb 14oz; third place went to Andy Labaji fishing on the Peg 17 the flyer, on the waggler and feeder with 3lb 12oz.

On Wednesday September 5, nine members turn up for the draw at 8am to fish the six–hour match for the Jack Larder Memorial Trophy at the Willingham Road Lake.

The weather conditions for the day were overcast at the start and then very sunny and hot, which affected the fishing feeding in the latter part of the match.

After six hours of fishing, Dave Appleyard, fishing pole on peg 28, took the trophy with 6lb 11oz, second place went to B Chambers with 6lb 6oz, fishing pole and feeder, third place went to D Humphreys, 5lb 7oz, fishing feeder.
