Market Rasen’s Team D in tight encounter win the Team Trophy
MARKET Rasen Angling Club had 12 members turn out on Sunday morning at 8am for the draw of the Team Trophy.
It was decided that there would be four teams of three and the pegs allocated for the match where then grouped from A to D.
The draw then took place for the pegs, which also then determined the team line–ups.
Fishing from 9am through to 2pm the match started in wet conditions with the weather being a mixed lot throughout the match.
Team D, led by B Dea’th, S Cash and J Hewson, won the event with a combined weight of 15lbs 12oz, in second place was Team A, B Sutherland, A Labaji and R Hewerdine with 12lb 8oz.
Third spot went to Team B with 10lb 9oz and the wood spoon went to Team C with 4lb 12oz.
The next match up for the members will be the Fur & Feather on Sunday October 14. Draw: 8am, fishing: 9am to 2pm. Match fee £5.
With autumn upon us and winter just around the corner, the Winter League Aggregate Shield commences on November 4, this being an eight match series, with the winner being decided by the most points at the end of the series, the draw for these matches are at 8.30am and fish from 9.30am to 2.30pm. All members are welcome to fish.
