Top-of-the -table Tealby take a tumble

IT WAS a disastrous day for local clubs in the Louth Wolds Bowls League with table topping Tealby going down 0 – 8 (40 – 75 aggregate) at North Thoresby.
Thoresby’s win brings them level with Tealby, both on 44 points; Ian McKay, Carol and Jack Speed were in great form and won 30 – 14 on their rink.

Wragby visited North Somercotes ‘A’ and lost 6 – 2 (50 – 47) in a closely fought game. Tony Williams, Reg Houlden and Ken Davison managed to win 2 points for Wragby winning 21 – 16 on their rink.

Eastfield entertained Middle Rasen and won the game 6 – 2 (60 – 47) with Rasen’s Fran Preston, John Wells and Bob Handford winning 18 – 17 on their rink.

Charles Street beat Alford 6 – 2 (63 – 45). Pam Clapp, Malcolm McClean and Mike Norton winning 25 15 on their rink.

Much improved North Somercotes ‘B’ easily beat Louth 8 – 0 (54 – 38) at the St Mary’s ground. Elsie Reynolds, Betty Dixon and Roy Montford winning 18 – 9.
