CAISTOR Grammar School enjoyed its best results for years when athletes took part in the first round of the English Schools Athletics held at Quibell Park.
It was the first time in history that all four teams finished in the top two places in their age categories.

Following on from their success last year, the Year 9 girls got off to a fantastic start by scoring a total of 318 points, 80 points above 2nd placed William Farr.

This achievement was even more fantastic as the girls had moved up an age group and were competing against year 10 students from other schools.

The junior girls' team (Years 7 & 8) also won their age group with 257 points and have qualified for the regional B final.

Both the Intermediate Boys (Years 9 & 10) and Junior Boys (Years 7 & 8) finished runners up in their categories.

The District Athletics trials, hosted by the grammar school in preparation for the county competition, had competitors from De Aston, the Yarborough school, Middlefield, Castle Hill, Queen Elizabeth and CGS with 16 girls and 9 boys qualifying from the grammar to represent the district.
