Sun shines on Saturday wickets
Local teams in the Lincolnshire League had mixed fortunes on Saturday. South Kelsey in Division 1 had started brightly but could not maintain their form against Barton Town who are riding high.
Kelsey skipper Lol Waghorn lost the toss but his side were surprisingly asked to bat on a good track. Early wickets went to some good bowling from Foster. Only Matthew Lawson (14) son of veteran all rounder Paul put up any real resistance, batting for 17 overs with his dad! In the end South Kelsey limped to 91 for 9. Barton took no time knocking off the required runs in only 14 overs without losing a wicket.
In Division 2 there was a poor batting display by Owmby, whose 93 was not enough to test Lincoln side Hartsholme 2nds.
In Division 3 Keelby 2nds fell foul of Lee Freeman, the Louth 2nds captain, who grabbed five wickets for five runs to bowl the villagers out for 73.
In Division 4 Hibaldstow are top of the pile and Simon Pullan's 68 was the backbone of their home win over South Kelsey 2nds.Hibaldstow hit 163 (Pullan 68) and South Kelsey 2nds 102 in reply.
