Sorry to see ‘localism’ councillors’ resignation

Have your say

EDITOR - I write in response to the letter about the five parish councillors from Bishop Norton who resigned over the Localism Act.

We equally are disappointed and have no power to change this legal requirement.

West Lindsey District Council is working hard to promote community engagement in parishes, and we want to continue working closely with and help all parish and town councils.

I am very sorry to have lost the continuing valuable input that the councillors have added to their community.

The Localism Act 2011 is a part of Government legislation and for anyone who would like more information on the Localism Act 2011, and how it affects districts and parishes, please visit www.communities.gov.uk/localgovernment/decentralisation/localismbill/

If you would like to comment on the Act or have any observations about it, please direct them to: Secretary of State, The Rt Hon Eric Pickles MP, House of Commons, London SW1A 0AA, or email him on eric.pickles@communities.gsi.gov.uk
