At long last a famous victory for those concerned with “elf and safety”! The infamous flying rats who have infested the Chapel Street Bridge in Market Rasen, have finally spread their wings and gone away to hopefully a less annoying locale.
Thanks not least to the Rasen Mail, WLDC, LCC, and of course to Network Rail who took a while, but finally did their duty.
I would also like to express my thanks to all those who raised their voices over the pigeon issue during these many years.
Now the disease carrying mess has been cleaned away, and the potential acid decaying substances that could weaken the ancient iron bridge and cause a frightful accident are no more.
I might add that the new netting was installed humanely with hardly a ruffled feather.
