Letter: Market Rasen Train noise

Over the last year the goods trains passing through Market Rasen are causing a lot more noise and quite serious vibration, this would appear to be attributable to an increase in weight and speed.

The scale of vibration would quite frankly measure on the Richter scale and will eventually cause increasing damage to housing alongside the line.

The current speed limit (even if it is adhered to) is surely too high especially for a raised embankment, any potential derailment could prove catastrophic.

My suggestion is that you instigate a poll of your readers and if given a suitable response, head a campaign to redress this imposition on our otherwise peaceful town.
