Letter: Fireworks - Great display, poor parking

This is an open letter to the Round Table congratulating them on the excellent display of fireworks on the 5th November.

Unfortunately the evening finished up as a damp squib when the numerous cars tried to leave the field car park whilst pedestrians were trying to return to their cars through the same exit.

At least two other exits to the field were not made available.

It did not help matters when one steward dashed down the field yelling, “Quick stop them. They’re trying to sneak down the side!”

We were not trying ‘sneak’ anywhere. We were, in fact, trying to get home to the warmth after standing in a dark cold field for over two hours and many had children who would be late to bed with school the next day.

A little more consideration would be appreciated.
