EDITOR - Like the majority of Horncastle residents I am appalled by the behaviour of our town mayor Mr Roark.
His decision not to attend the service of Remembrance in favour of a family day out karting, if little else, demonstrates a very poor lack of judgement.
His actions are an insult to those people who gave their lives in the first and second world wars so that we may live in a free and democratic society.
Is it too much that out of the 8760 hours in one year he can give up one hour to remember those brave men and women?
Shame on you, Mr Roark.
If this is an indication of his level of judgment, then surely he is unfit for office.
I hasten to point out that section five of the Local Authorities model code of conduct states: “You must not conduct yourself in a manner which could reasonably be regarded as bringing your office or authority into disrepute.”
