EDITOR – We were thrilled to see in the Market Rasen Mail the photograph of the Mangle (Rase Heritage Society window).
It actually belonged to Flo Mason who lived next to De Aston School for many years and died, sadly, in February this year at the ripe old age of 105.
We found the dilapidated mangle in a shed in the garden of her house in a very dilapidated condition and Flo’s family donated it to the Market Rasen Historical Society.
I must say that the Society have made a wonderful job restoring it to its former glory and they are to be congratulated.
My wife - Flo’s niece - and I live in Grimsby, but we received the cutting from the Market Rasen Mail from our daughter who now lives in Canada.
