Conservation work at Caistor

Editor - In case anyone is worried by what is going on in the wildlife area behind the cricket pitch in Caistor, it was wildlife conservation volunteers who for two days helped cut the long grass and weeds.

Many more volunteers are required on Saturday, July 30, from 10.30am to help rake up the cut grass and move it to a heap close by.

By removing the cut vegetation before the nutrients return to the soil it should weaken the weeds and give the meadow flowers which grow there a better chance.

An information board is to be erected shortly explaining what is being done and what can be seen there.
