It seems ‘goodwill to all men’ has passed Market Rasen by - or at least its market traders.
To say the charity fair - not a market - at Tesco took their trade is absolutely ridiculous.
In fact, if it hadn’t been for the event, I for one wouldn’t even have come to Rasen that day.
As it was, I bought a seasonal scarf from one of the ‘stallholders’ at the event (could I have got that on the market?) and then went into town proper, where I bought more items from a number of shops, as well as eating at one of the town cafes.
The charity fair was one of many events organised by members of Tesco staff in support of the cancer unit at Lincoln hospital - and
they have done a fantastic job, as the Rasen Mail report of the event (December 3) showed.
With not living in the town, I admit I only occasionally buy from the market, but now I don’t feel like supporting them at all.
