Comments made by Coun Burns-Salmond at the January planning committee meeting of Caistor Town Council relating to the poor attendance of councillors should be of great interest to the electorate of Caistor, more importantly consideration must be given to the attendance of councillors at the monthly full council meetings,
Coun Galligan attended only four meetings out of 12 in 2014 and also failed to send apologies on four occasions, Coun Savage missed six meetings as did Coun Sizer and Coun Sandham failed to attend five meetings.
Surely it would be reasonable of the electorate of Caistor to expect a more proactive attitude from councillors and if work is making it difficult to attend meetings then stand down councillors and concentrate on your chosen work commitments, yes we take holidays and we all possibly feel unwell from time to time but council meetings only take place once a month !
It would appear that Caistor Town Council is in danger of becoming dysfunctional by the unacceptable high number of habitual absentee councillors.
I look forward to the public in Caistor casting their votes in the May elections and to hopefully achieve a more proactive council.
