Airwaves misuse spoiled CB for all ‘good buddies’

EDITOR – Here is a letter about an old way of comment before we had mobile phones. They called it CB Radio, which all started in the 1970s and 1980s.

In the 1990s and up to 2000 people still had their CB Radio at home, but not as many even then as in its heydays.

In 2010 and 2011 the airwaves of CB Radio have become something used for anti-social behaviour.

If you are a gay person or if you have a disability and have CB at home you would get bullied, people fighting to pull down antennae and being called names.

When I first stood with my CB Radio in 1982 their was no fighting behaviour over the airways at all.

Anyone using the CB in that way was fined £2,000 and their CB was taken off them by the police... and if they carried on after that they would be locked up for a very long time.

But the heydays of CB Radio will never come back and you can’t blame the good CB users like me for it going downhill.
