Charity, supper and murder!

Help for Heroes - Wragby couple Margaret and John Kane continue to lead the support for the Help for Heroes charity in Wragby.

The charity ensures the servicemen and women wounded do not have to face their battles alone.

But they in turn are dependent on other volunteers to organise events to raise funds to support them in their efforts.

Letters of thanks, with hand written messages showing just how grateful the charity and those who benefit are, are received regularly by Margaret and John, who share them with everyone who donates the used books and jigsaws, the volunteer who makes them up to ensure no pieces are missing and those who buy them at the stalls set up each month at WI meetings and Saturday Night Family Bingo sessions.

The regular small amounts are totted up and occasionally given a boost by a tombola, which has become a popular addition to the Bingo Nights.

The recent cheque for £160 received e very prompt acknowledgement, informing of the huge difference the contributions help to make to the lives of some truly inspirational people.

Supper Club - The “Good Friday” meeting was a bring and share supper, which was well attended and the evening of music and meditation was enjoyed by all.

The club will be visiting Stokes Warehouse in Lincoln for their July meeting and this promises to be a very interesting event.

All are welcome, but booking is essential for catering purposes.
