Variety Show, Gardeners and bingo

Variety show - The Lindum Accordion Club, which hires Wragby Town Hall for its practice sessions, is joining forces with Wragby Swimming Club to present a variety show at the town hall on Saturday September 7.

Local people are being given the opportunity to perform and the list includes Felicity Turner, Charlie Newland Shepherd, Jordan McCarty, Jack Reid, Brian and Carol Mason and Margaret Wade - together with the Lindum Accordionists and the Wragby Handbell Ringers.

The show starts at 7.30pm and tickets are available from the swimming pool during opening hours, or at the door with a charge of £4 for adults and £1 for children, including refreshments.

Community gardeners - The annual meeting of the Wragby Community Gardeners is to be held on Tuesday, September 10, in the Town Hall at 7.30pm.

Reports will be presented on activities during what has been a very successful second year for the Community Gardeners.

Programmes for the new season will be launched, including details of speakers at the monthly indoor meetings during the winter followed by visits to local gardens during the lighter nights.

Coach outings to national venues of interest are arranged.

The last trip for this year is to the Malvern Flower Show on Sunday September 29. Coaches depart from the old fire station at 8.30am and information is available from treasurer and outings organiser Carole Watts (01673 858165)

Family bingo - Wragby Town Hall is the place to be on September 14 when the next Saturday Night Bingo Session will be held to boost the hall’s refurbishment fund.

It is ‘eyes down’ at 7.30pm. There will be a raffle and refreshments.

Children are welcome and have their own raffle draw for sweets.

Further details from Margaret Kane (01673 858067).

There is also an adult only bingo session every Thursday night at the hall for really keen players and again everyone is welcome for ‘eyes down’ at 8pm. The weekly bingo is organised by Pat Steel.
