A FABULOUS fund-raising fayre took place in Grasby Village Hall to raise funds for a specialist changing table for four-year-old Freya Hilton who suffers from cerebral palsy and hydrocephalus.
As reported in last week’s Market Rasen Mail, when Freya starts school in September, she will need the table to help with her personal care.
During the afternoon, there were lucky dips, a jewellery stall, face painting, refreshments, a craft stall and a balloon race, as well as a personal appearance by Freya’s favourite TV character Peppa Pig.
Amy and Lucy Melbourne organised the fayre and the evening band event, with fancy dress, called Around the World for Freya.
And they were delighted with the response which has raised £2,100 for Freya’s fund.
“It was absolutely fantastic,” said Lucy.
“The support has been amazing and we thank the businesses who have made donations and everyone who has helped in any way.
“With the events we have held and those planned we expect to reach the £3,200 needed to buy the equipment needed.”
The next event is the bikeathon being organised by The Cross Keys pub on Saturday May 28, which will involve touring round seven local pubs.
