POLICE have warned homeowners to be vigilant following a recent spate of thefts from gardens across West Norfolk.
Hanging baskets and garden ornaments have been stolen from addresses in the Downham area, while sheds and allotments have also been targeted in villages in the Hunstanton area.
And, with warmer weather forecast next week, Supt Dave Marshall, who leads policing in West Norfolk, is calling for householders to be on their guard.
He said: “It is always a balancing act when it comes to protecting things in your garden as locking items away can defeat the point of having them. But the key is to put lighter items in your back garden rather than your front and lock away anything particularly expensive when you are not using it.”
