MOBILE phone users in a Wolds village have been left frustrated after a transmitter failed.
Users of the Vodafone network in Binbrook have been without coverage since March 6 – and it looks like things won’t get any better until the end of this week at the earliest.
A spokesman for the telecommunications company told the Mail: “Our engineers visited the local mast at Binbrook Airfield on March 6.
“They found that there was failure in the transmission equipment originating from another nearby site at Caistor.
“Unfortunately, when we contacted our landlord – Lincolnshire Police in this case – for permission to climb the mast to make repairs, we were told the structure was being refurbished and was not currently safe to climb.
“We are told that the work should be completed by Friday (March 16) and we hope to fix the problem then.
“Our apologies to our customers locally, but the matter is out of our hands at the moment.”
