WI - Members were welcomed to the September meeting at the town hall by President Maragret Kane.

The guest speaker was Connie Hurd who gave a talk on dance before members had the opportunity to try the different styles.

There will be a group meeting at Washingborough on October 21 where Nicholas Barratt will be speaking on the topic of ‘Who do you think you are?’

Talent variety show - Wragby & District swimming pool teamed up with the Lindon Accordion group to present a variety show on Saturday September 7.

Alan Wade was compere for the evening and raised £300.

The evening included performances on the violin, song and dance routines, and hand bell ringers.

Future of sport facilities - There will be a meeting on Wednesday October 9 to discuss the future of Sport and Community facilities in Wragby.

The Trust is looking to secure a further £50,000 grant from Sport England.

All are welcome to attend.

1st Rainbows - Weekly meetings resumed on September 9 following the summer break.

Members enjoyed a recent party night held to celebrate the unit’s 25th anniversary.

The programme has been planned through until the end of year and a few places are still available for new members.

Dovepark bowls - The annual autumn jumble sale will be held at Wragby Town Hall on Saturday September 28.

There will also be a tombola and a raffle. Doors open at 2pm, all are welcome.

Shoe box appeal - Everyone is warmly invited to All Saints Church on Saturday October 12 to help with this year’s shoe box appeal.

Items for children aged 9-14 and those under two are particularly welcome.

Items can be donated on the day.

Antiques and Collectibles Roadshow - Robert Bell and Co auctioneers will be at All Saints Church on Saturday October 5.

Items can be taken along for valuation between 10am and 12pm. Admission is £1.50.

East Barkwith

Gardeners association - Barkwith and District Gardeners Association will launch their winter programme on Friday September 27 with a talk by Mr Dave Newton on ’Autumn in the Garden’.

There will be a raffle and a competition for the best flower of the month. All are welcome.

Harvest supper - Will be held at the village hall on Saturday October 19 at 7pm.

Tickets cost £8.50 and are available by contacting Maxine Gibson on 01673 858822.

The evening starts at 7pm and guests are asked to bring their own drinks and glasses. Money raised will go towards for St Mary’s Church.
