Nettleton Parish Council has commissioned a new and very unique sign for the village.

Taking almost 70 man hours, Paul Booth, head stonemason at Lincoln Cathedral, took three pieces of ironstone from the original church parapet and hand carved the village name into it.

“I really enjoyed the challenge of working with old ironstone as it is notoriously tricky to carve,” said Paul.

The sign was combined with a lime stone plinth and installed at the side of the A46 in the centre of the village, with parish council and church members at the unveiling.
