Despite marking his 90th birthday last May, there’s no stopping Caistor volunteer Harry Minns, who was named as runner-up in The Caistor Area Champion category at the West Lindsey Community Awards.
Making the award on Thursday, December 5, at WLDC headquarter in Gainsborough, Caistor district councillor Alan Caine said: “A great supporter of the Youth Hostel Association, he volunteered as a warden on weekends.
“A keen fundraiser for the Caistor Christian Aid Committee, he has raised thousands of pounds over the last 60 years to help the world’s poorest people.
“A local bell ringer and litter picker, Harry is also a good neighbour and assists elderly residents with shopping and other tasks.”
Harry told the Rasen Mail that he was honoured to receive the award and had no plans to stop his good work.
