VARIETY is the spice of life, it is said, and the current programme Holton le Moor WI bears witness to that.
April’s humour of Joyce Grenfell was followed in May by an away day to Stamford and Burghley House.
The June meeting heard Adrian Raynor Krill’s knowledgeable talk on Roman gladiators, complete with an impressive display of armour.
At the July meeting, Charlotte Linsell gave a very informative and detailed report on the national WI AGM which was held this year in Liverpool. This was followed by a demonstration on ribbon embroidery.
Competition winners were: flower of the month – Barbara Pywell, Megs Graham-Rack and Greta White’ best embroidery – Mrs J Emery, Mrs C Baxter and Mrs C Burdett.
This month members are holding a garden meeting at Cobwebs in North Owersby, followed by supper.
