Two hospitalised after explosion in Nettleton

AN EXPLOSION and fire at a house in Nettleton has left two people in hospital.

Four crews from Caistor, Market Rasen, Binbrook and Humberside were called a house fire on Moortown Road, Nettleton just after 10pm last night.

The fire caused severe damage to the ground floor living room and first floor bedroom of the detached house and an explosion caused damage to the remainder of the downstairs rooms. There was severe smoke damage to the entire house.

Firefighters spent five hours tacking the blaze using two hose reels, two main jets and four breathing apparatus.

A Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue spokesman said: “Two adults were taken to hospital to be treated for burns on their arms and shock.”

Fire investigation officers returned to the house this morning to establish the cause of the fire.
