Brigg Town Business Partnership was delighted with the public’s response to the annual Blessing of the Brigg Pumps Parade.

Crowds lined the streets and assembled at the pumps as Tatterfoals Dance Group and Grimsby Morris led the parade through the town to the two pumps, with Brigg Brownies, dressed as flower girls, following.

The Pump over the County Bridge next to the Nelthorpe Arms saw the first blessing ceremony led by Rev Alec Depledge on the theme of ‘thanks for water.’

Then the parade processed along Wrawby Street to the Pump near the White Horse for the second blessing by the Rev Ian Wells, Methodist Minister in Brigg.

And there was colourful dancing at both locations by Tatterfoals and Grimsby Morris Men.
