IT WAS a time of celebration on Sunday as Market Rasen’s oldest resident celebrated her 105th birthday.

Flo Mason spent the morning being visited by 25 members of her family.

“It is all quite tiring when you get to my age,” she said.

The one person she would have loved to have seen was her sister Margaret Alice, who will be celebrating her 100th birthday in July, but they were able to speak on the telephone.

Flo is still fondly remembered for running the unofficial tuck shop from the cottage she moved to in the mid-1930s, which backed on to De Aston School.

And she is delighted one of her schoolboy customers, Brian Marshall, still visits her all these years on.
