Join campaign and help cut accidents

HAULIERS, bus operators and farmers are being urged to support an initiative to reduce the number of motorcycle accidents across the district.

West Lindsey District Council is supporting the ‘Kill Spills campaign’ organised by the Motorcycle Action Group (MAG) – and is encouraging others to do the same.

Businesses are being encouraged to display a MAG warning sticker near the filler cap of all their larger diesel vehicles.

The yellow stickers remind drivers to avoid overfilling the diesel tank and to make sure that they re-fit the filler cap afterwards.

West Lindsey District Council councillor for Caistor Alan Caine feels strongly about this issue.

He said: “I was a victim of a fuel slick when I was eighteen, I was thrown from my motorbike and I still bear the scars.”
