Hemswell boy, nine, is seriously injured after collision with car

A NINE-YEAR-OLD boy was seriously injured and had to be airlifted to hospital after a collision with a car in Hemswell.

A black Ford Escort driven by a man from the Doncaster area collided with a local boy who was on foot. It happened on the A631 in Hemswell at about 6pm on Friday, September 7.

The boy suffered head injuries and was airlifted to Hull Royal Infirmary for treatment where his condition is serious but not believed to be life-threatening.

A631 was closed while the car was recovered and was re-opened about 9pm that evening.

Anyone who was in the area at about 6pm and saw either the black Ford Escort or the boy before the collision or saw the collision itself should contact police on 101.
