JUNIOR football is back up and running in the town thanks to the generosity of local people.

After reading in the Market Rasen Mail, January 12, how training equipment for the four to eight–year–old squad had been stolen, Market Rasen Children’s Centre and The Chase pub both offered help and support.

Children’s Centre practitioner Charles Newby said: “We work with the 0 to 5 age group and want to encourage activity and a healthy lifestyle.

“We are pleased to be able to purchase the collapsible goal and support the community in this way.”

The Children’s Centre is also developing a partnership with the Rase Park club to put on two football taster sessions in the half term.

Landlords of the Chase in King Street, Brian and Jane Sankey, were also keen to support the young footballers and have donated two limited edition footballs to raffle or auction for funds.
