Town event will blossom

FORGET the RHS Chelsea and Tatton Park flower shows, the place to be for a horticultural haven next month is Market Rasen.

Eight gardens will be open and the Festival Hall will be awash with colour for the Market Rasen Flower Design Show.

There will also be a summer market, with a range of garden-related and produce stalls.

Helping to kick start the plans for the event on Saturday, July 30, developers Linden Homes have put up £200 sponsorship.

Derek Anderson, chairman of the event’s working party, said: “We are hopeful the Open Gardens and Summer Market, thanks to help from Linden Homes and the many volunteers taking part, will raise some funds for the Market Rasen Rotary Club, which is currently supporting Rotary International Projects such as Shelterbox and Polio Eradication Worldwide.”
