Caistor man David Mason went to this year’s Carrington Rally with his 80-year-old friend Trixie and came away with some silverware.

Trixie is David’s Triumph Gloria Southern Cross, first registered in 1935, and the burgundy beauty won the best pre-1940 class.

And the previous week, she also won the ‘Friends of Lincoln Castle’ award, chosen from all the cars present(some 150) by the exhibitors.

David, chairman of the world wide Pre-1940 Triumph Motor Club, bought Trixie in 2001 and has since had the engine fully rebuilt and the body work restored.
