Tesco in Market Rasen has come out as being one of England’s top 10 fundraising stores for the company’s national charity partnership with Diabetes UK.
More than £19,000 has been raised by the Market Rasen store alone, which has helped towards the supermarket chains £18.6 million raised nationally through the partnership. This puts Rasen in 10th place out of 2,911 shops across England.
And all of this money has been raised between March 2013 and December 2014.
Colleagues at the Market Rasen branch have taken on all kinds of challenges and held fundraising events in-store. They have put the shop managers to the stocks, waxed backs, and more – all to raise money for Diabetes UK.
Ian Black, store manager at Tesco in Market Rasen said: “We are delighted that the Tesco Market Rasen Superstore is 10th in England’s top 10 fundraising stores.
“It’s an incredible achievement and a tribute to store colleagues’ hard work.
“ We are hugely thankful to all the customers who have dipped into their pockets to help us raise so much for Diabetes UK.”
Paul Amadi, director of fundraising at Diabetes UK, added: “We are very grateful to all the colleagues and customers at the Market Rasen superstore for their wonderful fundraising efforts. Their work has helped us create a lasting legacy.”
