Willingham Winners and Caribbean Barbeque

Willingham Winners - Joanne Taylor and Mike Perkins are the recent winners of the Willingham Winners Club run by manager Chris Nutten for the South Willingham Parish Hall Management Committee.

Their lucky winning tickets were drawn at the bi-monthly coffee mornings which are held in the hall on the second and fourth Wednesday of the month.

Everyone is invited to go along and enjoy a cuppa at the informal social get-togethers.

There is no charge, but donations are always appreciated towards the maintenance of the hall.

Caribbean Barbecue - The Parish Hall was transformed into a tropical haven for the summer barbecue.

Ann Crookes and Glynis Petterson had prepared the fantastic food, which included marinated chicken, prawns, a wide range of sausages and even curried goat.

Thanks go to all who helped and contributed to the lunch, which was very successful in spite of a lower attendance than usual at Parish Hall events.

The cream tea event had to be cancelled as there were insufficient committee members available to prepare and serve them, so the next event will be the Harvest Supper on Friday, September 17, at 7pm.

Tickets cost £8.50 for adults available from Maureen on 01507 313584.

The meal will be followed by an auction sale of produce, preserves and home baking; donations will be very much appreciated.
