Brigg St John’s provided the entertainment for a Christian Aid fundraising evening.

The group’s music included items from Gilbert and Sullivan and songs from the Second World War to mark the 70th anniversary of VE Day, while between the items were tales of times past and amusing anecdotes.

Brigg and District Christian Aid Committee members Sheila Neave and Micky Britain, will be taking part in the sponsored walk across the Humber Bridge and Wrawby Open Gardens on June 14 is another fundraiser.

And at the Brigg event, there was also a special bucket collection to support victims and relief work in Nepal.

The singers were under the baton of conductor George Jefferson with Sue Jefferson as the accompanist.

The singers included Bill Nobbs, Peter Axe, John Hough, Brian Denison, Andrew Ballard and Trevor Cherry.

And celebrating their golden weddings on the evening were three of the singers and their wives - Brian and Anne Denison, Anne and Trevor Cherry, and Josephine and Bill Nobbs.
