Market Rasen army cadet Corporal William Yeo has been given an award in recognition of being Lincolnshire ACF’s best shot at Bisley, Surrey for the last four years.

And as well as this accolade, William, won the Gold Medal for the 600 yard competition at the Inter-services Cadet Rifle Meet in July.

He is also part of the successful Lincolnshire ACF shooting team, which has won regional and national competitions over the last four years

William has been an army cadet for six years and was one of 14 cadets chosen to represent the UK at an international exchange in Canada with their cadet force.

And giving William this award was Captain Vardy’s last official duty after more than 25 years with the Army Cadets.

Captain Vardy, from Langworth, has now retired, but looks after the clay shooting club which is open to current and former cadets and of which William is an active member.
