Santa on his sleigh, panto stars on stage, a sparkling Christmas tree and children singing carols.
The festive season in Brigg opened in some style on Friday night in a packed Market Place. The fun continued well into the evening as the charity stallholders at Brigg Lions Christmas Market and local shops did brisk business.
It was a celebration of Christmas that stretched across the generations. On the temporary stage outside the Angel were two Brigg senior citizens Doris Brennan and Kath Taylor both exactly 100 years old.
They shared the honour with Town Mayor Carl Sherwood in turning on the switch after the countdown that lit the town’s tree.
Youthful input to the occasion came from Brigg St Mary’s Primary School choir and they followed a foot tapping performance from The Vale Academy Brass Band. The Plowright Theatre pantomime stars were led by Annie Fannie the dame, played by Darren Johnson.
