A Market Rasen bank is encouraging children to take part in sport by sponsoring trophies at three local schools.
As part of a national initiative by Lloyds TSB, staff at the Market Rasen branch nominated schools they have connections with to receive the trophies.
Legsby, Osgodby and Middle Rasen each received a perpetual trophy to be used to recognise the sporting achievements of pupils.
At Osgodby, the trophy will be used to recognise the talents of the children who have been receiving coaching from cricketer Sahan Wijerathne – and this year’s winner is Freddie Marris.
Success at the annual sports day was recognised by the new trophy at Middle Rasen. Helena Spilman excelled, winning nearly all the events she entered, and so became the first holder.
Finally, at Legsby, the award went to Julie Randle, who had shown sporting ability throughout the year, as well as at the annual sports day.
